Kate specializes in working with adolescents suffering from depression, anxiety, relationship problems, self-esteem, self-injurious behavior, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, conduct disorder, trauma, personality disorder symptoms/characteristics, and destructive decision making.

Kate also has success working with adults with depression, anxiety, lack of purpose/self-worth, personality disorders, grief/loss, adjustment disorders, and relationship difficulties; as well as children with ADHD, and behavioral problems. Kate’s clients report helpfulness and progress due to her compassion, empathy, straightforwardness, insight, and engaging personality.

Kate is a strength based therapist who

uses a multitude of techniques, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, and traditional relational talk therapy, in order to meet the individual client’s needs. She, however, embraces DBT as a key component of skill based treatment in order to help with interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness/relaxation. Kate encourages individuals to interview her as a therapist as she understands the importance of a solid connection with the therapist in order for clients to progress and meet their goals most effectively.
